Patrick Obel is a counselling psychologist at USIU-Africa. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Bible and Theology from PAC University, a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Daystar University and currently pursuing his PhD at Kabarak University.

He is an adjunct lecturer at PAC University and St. Paul’s University. He has worked at PAC University as a university counselor and an acting dean of students. Currently working at USIU Africa in the counseling department as a senior counselor. He is part of a team responsible for providing comprehensive, quality, sustainable, preventive, supportive and curative counseling psychological services that help the USIU-Africa community members with a variety of personal, academic, occupational, social and emotional concerns. This service is offered free of charge to all students, staff, and faculty of USIU-Africa.

He is the founder of Fountain Professional Counseling Services that offers counseling services in a variety of issues as well as conduct psychological assessments and customized seminars and workshops.

His areas of expertise include alcohol and drug addiction, youth, couple and family therapy in addition to offering psychosocial support to members of the community and taking part in speaking engagements in conferences and seminars.

Patrick is an ordained pastor serving at Ongata Rongai Fountain of Hope Chapel, he is an executive member of Kenya Universities Professional Counselors’ Association (KUPCA), an executive member of Kenya Psychological Association (KPA), and member of International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies (ISTSS). He is a Life coach and certified Trainer of Trainers (TOT).
