We are Family: Teenagers

We are Family: Teenagers

We are living in perilous times that require us to walk on the straight and narrow if we are to rise above the moral decadence

2 Timothy 3:1 – 5
But Mark this; there will be terrible times in the last days.

A CHARGE HAS BEEN GIVEN:

*The Instructions of scripture have always been independent of the times and seasons we are living in.

*This points to the fact that obedience is required in all circumstances that we find ourselves in.

Proverbs 22:6 –
Train up a child on the way He should go.

Proverbs 1: 8 – 9

There is:

*Instructions to be given.

*Teaching to be received

*Listening to be done.

2 Timothy 1:14 – Guard the good deposit that was entrusted to you. Guard it with the help of the Holy Spirit.

Ephesians 6:1, Colossians 3:20 – It is good to OBEY and to HONOR.

AN EXAMPLE TO FOLLOW:

*An example speaks louder than precept.(John Wesley in His Book, “Sermon on the Mount”).

2 Timothy 1:4-5 – Timothy had a grandmother and a mother who lived a life that was pleasing to God.

*Godliness is not acquired by genetic predisposition but exemplified or demonstrated.

*Your example must speak louder than your instruction.

*You may not fully control your Teens exposure, but you can influence their guiding principles.

2 Timothy 3:14 –
Continue of what you have learnt and become convinced of, because you know from whom you have learnt it.

Verse 15 – From Infancy, He has learnt the word of God.

A PROMISE TO PARTAKE:

Proverbs 1:33
…but whoever listens to me will live in safety
and be at ease, without fear of harm.”

*Obedience is pleasing to God.

*Obedience makes us fruitful in our knowledge of God as His family.
